The Battin Front
The Battin Front is me, Zach Battin. I'm a meteorologist and storm chaser in the Miami Valley of Ohio.
I forecast for Dayton and the rest of Southwest Ohio. When severe weather sets up, I track it, and I go out and document it when I can. The chase reports, photos and videos on this site come from those days.
I also build the tools behind this site: the alerts map, the Graphics Room and the Seasonal Outlook.
I'd rather explain why a storm will or won't happen than hype it. If you come away from a forecast here understanding the setup a little better, that's the point.

I started The Battin Front. I completed my certification in meteorology at Mississippi State University, a few general education classes short of a bachelor's degree. I also have a bachelor's in Computer Information Systems.
